Fangirling became my week starter last Sunday, March 3, 2013, and I never actually know how to react that time, the time when I will meet the author of my favorite book. Well let me start first with this…
It’s my first time to go to a book signing event, (well before I was supposed to go to Nicholas Sparks’ book signing event, but due to. okay I’ll stop from there, because that doesn’t make any sense here.) and I’m so glad that this is my first! Then I may also say that I also became a wallflower that day, I mean I’m just listening to a lot of conversations of different bookworms and nerdfighters, and that time I realized that being a wallflower is actually cool. You’ll get to learn a lot of things, and at the same time study different types of personality.
Now moving on to the event, after waiting for how many hours! There came one of my favorite authors, Ransom Riggs(writer of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children)! He read a part of his book, and I really found it great to hear the author of the book reading his own book aloud.
Then now the question and answer part came/interrogating part according to Ransom, and I’m glad that I’m one of the lucky fans who got to ask him.My first question is if he’s going back to making YouTube videos, and he said yes maybe some time. And my last question is who’s his favorite author, and he said Cormac McCarthy(writer of The Road) is his favorite because of the language he uses.
For the last part the book signing event came, and I’m still the 135th person, so I have to wait for quite a long time/2 hours I guess. However I may consider myself lucky, because when my turn came Tahereh Mafi(writer of Shatter Me) arrived, I know I haven’t read any of her books yet, but that starstruck feels came to me, because 2 great authors are now in front of me!Now for my real turn, I gave Ransom a letter written on a receipt, that he accepted and made him laugh. lol. Well we chatted a little, and I hugged him after, and here are our photos together. The signed copy of my book!!! *fangirling screams here*
Yes right now I’ll be ending my week with happiness, and I still can’t believe that I actually talked to that person who wrote my favorite book, because Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is a book of adventure, love, understanding and most especially hope. As of right now I’m really looking forward for the movie of it(DIRECTED BY TIM BURTON) and the sequel of this book. And again thank you Mr. Ransom Riggs, for being a hilarious, down to earth and really approachable man! To Fully Booked, bring him again to Philippines next time! I have to give a lot of photos to him too! Now, to everyone I hope you’ll get to read this awesome book, it’s really great(but prepare for nightmares, because I had one).
